WomenBuild is Habitat’s volunteer program for women who want to learn construction skills and make a difference by building homes and communities. No previous construction experience is required. If you want to learn, we can teach you!
There are several ways for you to be involved and all WomenBuild opportunities come with hands-on training. The WomenBuild Steering Committee works throughout the year to raise the funds to build the sponsored house.
WomenBuild began in the United States in 1991 when a group of women in Charlotte, NC completed the first women-build Habitat for Humanity house. Locally the Baldwin County WomenBuild raised the roof on the first women built home in 1991.
