YouthUnited
Youth United invites youth ages 5 to 25 to fund and build a home in partnership with a local family. Older youth (14 to 25) build the house, while youth of all ages can share their imagination and energy with us in the effort to end poverty housing.

The four goals of Youth United are to:
• Involve youth in their community.
• Engage youth in Habitat’s mission of eliminating poverty housing.
• Foster teamwork among diverse groups of youth.
• Develop youth leaders

The Youth United program brings together youth from all over Baldwin County in an effort to fund and build a house with Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County over the course of each school year.

Why should your school get involved with Youth United?

Service Learning Opportunities
Students can learn through service to Habitat for Humanity.  Local schools’ Life Studies departments have gotten their students involved by learning about housing issues in Baldwin County.

Community Service Hours
Students who have to meet community service hour requirements can benefit from Habitat for Humanity’s flexible work schedule.  We also have volunteer opportunities at our ReStore and at special events and fundraisers.

Leadership Skills
Youth United at Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County offers a variety of leadership positions for local students on the Youth United Committee.  These students will learn the skills it takes to be a leader in addition to a team building experience like no other!

Rewarding Experience
Students involved in Youth United will get to interact with diverse youth from around Baldwin County.  More importantly, they will get to work on the build along side the future home owner of the Youth United house.
